Romina, born and raised in Bergamo, Italy, was immersed in a culture rich with artistry and an eye for beauty. Initially captivated by fashion, she studied design, but after four years, she realized her true passion lay in hairstyling. In the early 2000s, she moved to Paris, drawn by the city’s transformative energy, and began working alongside top hairstylists in the fashion industry. Her inventive use of hair products quickly set her apart, allowing her to express the language of fashion through hair.
Her talent didn’t go unnoticed: Romina’s work was soon featured in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Vanity Fair, and Elle, and she collaborated with brands such as Estée Lauder, L'Oréal, Ralph Lauren, Adidas, Bergdorf Goodman, and Neiman Marcus. After years of thriving in the heart of the fashion scene, Romina relocated to New York in 2011 to meet the rising demand for her expertise in the U.S., envisioning new possibilities for her craft in the world’s business capital.
With over 20 years of experience, Romina was inspired to launch her own brand, MAY11, in 2016. Fueled by the clean beauty movement, she created a line of natural products designed to support healthy hair growth—the foundation of every great hairstyle. MAY11 quickly earned praise from hair experts and devoted fans, including Norma Kamali and Camila Alves McConaughey, who called it “one of my greatest finds.”
Romina continues to refine her innovative formulas, establishing MAY11 as a standout in the hair care industry. Alongside her work developing new products, she now consults for both European and American beauty brands, sharing her unique expertise in merging couture and commerce.
