Born and raised in Bergamo, Italy, Romina was nurtured within a culture rich in artistry and aesthetic appreciation, which deeply ingrained itself in the way she perceives the world.
Since her young age, Romina has been captivated by the allure of fashion. This led her to embark on studies as a fashion designer, a journey she later chose to diverge from when, four years into her pursuit, a vivid realization took hold: her true passion lay in working with hair.
In 2001, amidst global shifts, she ventured to Paris, embracing the spirit of change. Beginning her journey as an assistant to some of the world's foremost hairstylists in the fashion industry. Her distinctive mastery of hair product understanding quickly garnered recognition, marked by a scientific comprehension of diverse product interactions that facilitated groundbreaking and successful hairstyles. This acumen empowered her to craft distinctive textures, play with voluminous looks, and achieve flawlessly sleek looks, all of which swiftly became her renowned trademarks.
Published in international editorials such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Vanity Fair, Elle, and collaborating with brands like Estée Lauder, L'Oréal, Ralph Lauren, Adidas, Bergdorf Goodman, and Neiman Marcus, Romina lived in the zenith of the fashion industry and traveled all over the world before deciding to move to New York in 2011.
After dedicating 25 years to sharing her expertise with others, Romina came to the realization that the moment had arrived to focus her energy inward and cultivate her personal brand. This epiphany occurred in 2016, a year when the beauty industry was undergoing a profound transformation by integrating the principles of well-being and environmental consciousness into its product innovations. The ethos of the clean beauty movement deeply struck a chord with her, igniting a sense of enthusiasm to actively engage in its evolution.
Romina's mission was crystal clear: develop organic products that support and improve healthy hair growth for all, regardless of their stage in the journey. Anchored in the United States, she fully embraced the industry's digital and social media expansion, realizing she was perfectly positioned for success.
In 2017, she launched her first product, MAY11 Revitalizing Hair Oil, and in December of 2019, she received the U.S. Patent for her unique formula.
Romina lives in Brooklyn, and her passion and curiosity keep pushing her to research and perfect her innovative formulas, making MAY11's products a game-changer in the hair care industry.
